Five Miami County doctors have entered the March 4th Republican Primary to become the next Miami County Coroner.  Dr. Bryan Casto of Bethel Twp, Dr. Chris Grove of Concord Twp., Dr. Steve Huffman of Tipp City, Dr. Pete Lachiewicz of Concord Twp. and Dr. Bruce Nordquist of Lostcreek Twp..  Which ever Doctor wins the election on March 4th will be the next Coroner since no Democrat filed for the position. 

After some discussion about the race at the January 21st Central Committee meeting Jarrod Harrah, Troy City Councilman, was heard prognosticating the race.  "It looks like the race is a dead heat!"  Harrah joked to much laughter.

The office of Coroner has been occupied by the only Democrat to hold county office.  County GOP Chairman John W. "Bud" O'Brien said "This is a great opportunity to capture all the county elected positions.  However, during her 16 years as Coroner, Judy Nickras served well and should be applauded for her dedicated service to the county."  He continued, "I know which ever of our candidates wins the election on March 4th they will serve with the same dignity and passion for the job.  I wish all entered into the race for Coroner good luck and welcome to the political process in Miami County."
